2019–20 – Round 3 Thanks

06 Jan 2020
The third installment of the 2019–20 season saw the Oxfordshire Cross Country League return to Bo Peep Farm, Adderbury held in conjunction with the 2020 Oxfordshire Cross Country Championships. The weather was remarkably clement for the time of year; perhaps we’ll pay for that later in the season. The conditions underfoot were ideal: muddy and greasy.

A third consecutive high attendance ensured there was again plenty of competition and support on the day. The Swindon Harriers’ men backed up the performances of the first two rounds to continue their dominance in the men’s Division 1 team competition. Likewise in the women’s team compettion, the White Horse Harriers AC ladies team further extended their lead in the women’s Division 1 team competition.

In the lower divisions Didcot A have relinquished their both the Men’s and Women’s Division 2 standings, with Kidlington A and Oxford TC taking over the lead positions respectively. In Division 3 Witney B (Men) and Kidlington A (Women) continue to lead way, albeit both teams are being closely pursued.

In the junior team events Abingdon A have strengthened their on both the U13 Girls’ and U15/U17 Girls’ competitions, and Radley A continue to dominate the U13 Boys’ and U15/U17 Boys’ competitions with strong perfomances.

The League’s management team would again like to take the opportunity to thank the co–hosting clubs, Banbury Harriers AC and Bicester, along with all the willing volunteers, without whom the fixture could not have gone ahead, for all their hard work in organising and hosting the fixture. As always, many thanks go to all of the officials, timekeepers, recorders, marshals and other volunteers who contributed once again to making the day a great success.

The penultimate round of the 2019–20 Oxfordshire Cross Country League is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 2nd February returning to Lawns Park, Swindon. The fixture will be hosted by Swindon Harriers. We look forward to seeing you all there again.

Thank you for your attention.
